Hand-braided Wool Necklaces
Hand-braided necklaces in regeneratively farmed wool
These necklaces have been braided by Jade, following an ancient Andean technique that would have been used to tether alpacas and other livestock. Jade has used local, regeneratively farmed Shetland and Romney wool to create this jewellery, from sheep farmed less than 10 miles from her loom in Somerset.
The ends have been needle-felted together, so the necklace can be placed over the head easily. Jade has only used wool in the making of these pieces, making them 'soil-to-soil' jewellery. This means that at the end of their long life, they can be returned to nourish the earth from which they came.
