I am very excited to let you know that me and my loom are taking part (for the first time!) in this year's Somerset Art Weeks! You can find Somerset Art Works' yellow map at most Somerset arts venues.
If you came to my wedding, you might remember a very lovely exhibition taking place in the Old School Hall next to the Village Hall in Batcombe. I will be joining them for the show this year. The Batcombe scarves, along with many more will be for sale in none other than... Batcombe!
Alongside six other artists and makers, I will show a range of handwoven scarves, cushions and accessories at the exhibition, including my hyper-local Truly Mendip range. I have recently prepared a collection of lavender bags using woven offcuts paired with beautiful, richly fragrant Mendip Lavender - sourced less than 5 miles from my loom. You will also find a small selection of woven glasses cases, which are another new addition (not yet available online!)
Other work includes painting, illustration, sculpture, printmaking and patchwork textiles, by artists Camilla Frederick, Peter Sheldon, Alison Harrison, Jan Pitt, Debbie Hart and Jo Addison - there will be plenty to discover and enjoy.
Do come and see us. We are opening for a preview on Friday 17th September (6pm - 8.30pm) and then open from Saturday 18th September until Sunday 3rd October, 10am - 6pm (closed on Mondays).
Free coffee, tea and cake will be served each day!
I'll be there on weekends and most Wednesdays and Fridays. Hope to see you there :)
